Nestled at the remote north-eastern end of Waiheke Island, Man O’ War is a destination like no other—where world-class winemaking meets dramatic coastal beauty and a rich, storied past.
Established with the planting of its first vines in 1993, Man O’ War has spent decades exploring the land and the complex geology beneath its surface in pursuit of the ultimate single vineyard sites. Today, the farm is home to no fewer than 75 individual vineyards each carefully selected.
Man O’ War has become renowned for its Syrah, Chardonnay, and Waiheke Island’s signature Bordeaux Blends. The winery also produces a distinctively expressive Sauvignon Blanc, a refreshing Pinot Gris, and its much-loved Rosé.
Steeped in history, Man O’ War Bay was named in the late 1700s by early navigators who recognized the towering kauri trees that once lined its shores—ideal timber for the masts of the British Navy’s Man O’ War warships. Long before then, the protected cove served as safe harbour for early Polynesian voyagers navigating the Pacific.
